A living Hope in a Dying World

Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and   my God.    Ps 42:5

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead... 1 Pt 1:3 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God. Peter 1:21

His Resurrection Assures us of our Salvation

Ps 38:4 My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear. My wounds fester and are loathsome  because of my sinful folly.

Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood.

Rom 4:25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

His Resurrection  Assures us that Living For Him is not in Vain

1 Cor 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

John 12:24 truly, truly, I say unto you, Except a grain of wheat fall into the earth and die, it abides by itself alone; but if it die, it bears much fruit.

Phil 3:10 I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.

His Resurrection Assures us that we will Rise again

1 Cor 15:20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

2 Cor 4:14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence.

Rom 8:11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.

1 Thess 4:14 We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

The Resurrection Assures us that There is a New  World  Coming

Eph 1:20 ...he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

1 Cor 15:25  For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

Acts 17:31 For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead."

Rev 21:4 There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." 5 He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!

Rom 8:18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 21...the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

BENEDICTION     Rom 8:37-39  In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,  neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1 Cor 15:55 "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" The sting of death is sin...But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
